For many years I was always critical of agents that never changed their photo or their bio and then I became one of them. Not because of vanity, just never thought about it. Recently I was working with a client that told me I don’t look anything like my online photo and realized they were exactly right. So after 14 years (admission is liberating) here is who I am.
I have now been in the business for over 21 years. I’ve worked through the good times and the bad. I survived the 9/11 tragedy, the financial market collapse in 2007, and now am in the midst of surviving this Covid episode. I have been able put my kids through college and know a lot more about real estate than I ever did. I’ll be the first to admit that you can never know it all. That's what makes this job exciting to me. I have not once in 21 years woken up and said "I hate my job and I need to do something else." There are similar situations in the home buying and selling process but everyone is unique and every circumstance is always different. The beauty of longevity in this business is not so much having faced every aspect, but gaining the knowledge of how to deal with the new and surprising situations that can, and will, arise.
It is amazing to me how the Triangle continues to explode. I have lived here for my entire life and feel like we’ve grown up together. Along the way both of us have made some mistakes in our growth, but I feel like at this point we’ve both learned so much from them and are all the better for it. I have, do and will be proud to call this pace my home, likely forever. I love working with people who are excited about either moving here or moving within here. Always have and always will. It's a great place to live and I can't thank my grandparents enough for choosing to immigrate to Raleigh, NC over a hundred years ago. It is a privilege to say I am a lifelong resident. I did venture to Chapel Hill for college and got to love it there as well, so the Triangle has always been my home. My roots here are deep but my love for this place is even deeper.
John has been my agent for 15 years, since I was 21. He is the best agent, and person you could ask for. He isn't worried about his commission like some agents are, he just wants to get you the house you want, and he knows the area very well. John is always there for me when I need his advice about anything. I consider him a great friend, not just my realtor.
I was referred to John through the USAA MoversAdvantage program. He was amazing. He helped us find a townhome within our budget and needs very quickly, and was very accommodating to our busy class schedules. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to but a home in Raleigh.
